About 14 days later, a beaming CEO stepped into my office.  “Well, Bob, I have good news and bad news.  The good news is we were awarded both of those projects.  The bad news is I have appointed you our proposal writer.”

“But Dan, I am so busy now,” I protested.  “Well, it was your idea,” he chuckled.  You’ll just have to work it out.”  From that day forward the company’s success rate for proposals continued at 60-80% higher than before.
